Scott Frank takes his first shot at directing with the 2007 independent film/advertiser's darling The Lookout. Scott is a well known writer (Get Shorty, Minority Report, Out of Sight, The Interpreter) and looking over his experience I am quite surprised to see that he wrote this particular story. The movie looks pretty great, real moody. However, the story is a bit unimportant and never gives me reason to really care about the characters. Yeah, I feel sorry for a few, but never enough to root for the "good" guy.
Anyways, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Matthew Goode pull out convincing and entertaining roles. Isla Fisher (as "Luvlee Lemons") should seek out a new profession or figure out how to make a serous audience appeal. Jeff Daniels is fantastic and brings out a terrific "blind man's" wardrobe---love his style.
Scott Frank, again, as a big name writer gives a decent shot at a film done right---but what he does best (write?) is simply left in the background.

hmmm
yeah i was skeptical of this one, may not have to see it.
Not going to see it
Alexander, I wouldn't have thought you to be one to waste your time on this flick. Is it really worth seeing?
It was rented for $3.00---on my girlfriend's dollar
Not worth seeing. But no excuses allowed from my part.
Seriously, wouldn't you have thought something about it could be engaging considering the famous writer? Get Shorty: a great movie? What happened to Scott Frank?
Also,
remember how much this flick was hyped up? actually, this gives me some motivation to write a few more reviews on some shitty films that got way too much hype-----expect a few a reviews out of me in the next few days.
Boring
I was really looking forward to this and was extremely disappointed. Nothing new about this story and the blind roommate thing was very gimmicky. "Let's get some wise cracks in there!" The tone and pace were all over the place. Oh well.
Yeah didnt like this one either
pretty bad
